Howard brings more than 20 years of success, building and strengthening professional service organizations. He joined from Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, where he was responsible for supporting the firm’s global private equity practice. Prior to Debevoise, Howard was the chief operating officer for Baker McKenzie’s Washington, D.C. office, and a managing director of London-based Berwin Leighton Paisner, now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner. While there, he led an innovative compliance-based business involving Deloitte, and he guided a merger that resulted in the creation of one of the United Kingdom’s largest law firms.
Howard earned two bachelor’s degrees in fine arts and architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and holds an MBA from Cambridge University.
Michael is an entrepreneurial leader, lawyer and solicitor (England and Wales, non-practicing), with more than 20 years of success building and strengthening professional services businesses, including 14 years in the international legal search space, operating businesses throughout Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia.
Prior to his career in executive search, Michael was a trial lawyer and legislative analyst in the U.S. Senate. Michael is a frequent speaker and author on lateral partner integration and the critical importance of utilizing competitive intelligence to mitigate risk.
Michael earned his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis, School of Law, and studied business at City University in London, U.K.
Lara earned her Bachelors of Science in Political Science, and a minor in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude, from Southeast Missouri State University. After graduation, Lara worked in the political arena, as a field organizer for a 2006 U.S. Senatorial campaign and the 2008 Presidential election.
Lara transitioned to public accounting in 2009 with a well-known accounting firm. During her tenure, Lara served as the manager of the firm’s tax practice. Prior to joining Decipher, Lara served as Chief Operating Officer for a legal search boutique.
Lara is currently pursuing her Master of Accounting degree at the University of Missouri – St. Louis and will then consecutively apply to become a licensed U.S. Certified Public Accountant.
Kevin earned his bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2009. He then spent three years at mid-Missouri’s National Public Radio affiliate, hosting a popular afternoon show and appearing as a panelist in the 2008 Missouri Attorney General debate.
Kevin returned to St. Louis and served as both a producer and on-air personality for a popular sports talk radio station. He developed a large St. Louis following covering the St. Louis Blues hockey team and writing a weekly hockey column.
Kevin earned his juris doctorate from Saint Louis University’s School of Law in 2015 and clerked at a well-known specialist labor and employment law firm.
Greg earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and business administration from Saint Louis University. After completing his undergraduate studies, Greg went on to receive his juris doctorate from the University of Dayton in Ohio and his MBA from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
While in law school, Greg worked primarily in the healthcare arena for a company that staffed medical personnel for emergency room care. Additionally, Greg earned the Pro Bono Commitment to Community Award for volunteering at a legal clinic that provided civil services to impoverished clients.
Jennifer holds an MFA in playwriting from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Working in business development and event planning for many years, Jennifer has key experience as the program director for Legal Management Resources, where she used event planning, customer service and website development to facilitate roundtables for law firm general counsel.
A talented author, Jennifer has written numerous articles, industrials and plays, including the award-winning “Appearance of Life.” She also writes for a number of websites and has completed her first book, How to Connect with Your Adoptive Child.
Ms. Applebaum is responsible for client feedback and intelligence, market insights, and sales enablement at Thomson Reuters in Canada. Prior to Thomson, she was the Director of Competitive Intelligence at Bennett Jones LLP, having pioneered the discipline of law firm CI, and authoring “Business Intelligence for Law Firms” published in November 2012. She is a contributor to blogs including 3 Geeks and a Law Blog. In 2015 she was inducted as a Fellow of the Council of CI Fellows; she has been a sessional instructor the University of Toronto iSchool, Rutgers University and a guest lecturer at law schools across North America.
Mr. Stewart qualified as a U.K. solicitor in 1989, and built a strong reputation as a disputes lawyer in London at SJ Berwin (now King and Wood Mallesons) and then Olswang, where he was Head of Commercial Litigation (1998-2007) and then Managing Partner, until he left in 2014 to join Griffiths & Partners as a partner. Based in Turks and Caicos, David has broad disputes and transactional experience. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a CEDR accredited mediator, and has 28 years of experience working as a lawyer in international firms on a wide variety of complex matters.
Mr. Williams has more than 35 years in the legal industry in practice and in senior management positions. As principal of Jomati Consultants, Tony has worked for a range of international and domestic law firms in over 50 countries. His advice covers the full range of strategic, management, client relationship and partnership issues including mergers, new offices, alliances and team hires. Mr. Williams was with Clifford Chance for almost 20 years including roles in London, Hong Kong and Moscow and finally as Global Managing Partner. He then moved to Andersen Legal until its dissolution following the collapse of Arthur Andersen. He is also a visiting professor at the University of Law (UK) and a non-executive board member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
