“The one that I like the most is ‘Courage to innovate,’ because I see innovation and failure as being different sides to the same coin; pretty much everything we do to innovate is spurred on by creativity, experimentation, and inevitably, failure. If we’re going to get to the point where we can use the power of our data to grow at the rate we want, we have to completely embrace an innovative mindset, push the envelope, and not be afraid to make (and learn from) mistakes along the way.”

As Director of Business Insights for Decipher, Greg Hamman wears several hats. One common theme throughout all his responsibilities, however, is piloting the firm’s most critical asset: its data.

Greg is responsible for analyzing proprietary and vendor data, maintaining Decipher’s data infrastructure, and organizing and managing the firm’s data collection process.

He is also active in research and development, scouting the latest technology so that Decipher can develop new products to meet its clients’ needs.

Greg joined Decipher’s predecessor firm in 2015 as a senior intelligence analyst. He joined Decipher at its launch and rose to his current role in 2019.

Greg earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and business administration from Saint Louis University. He went on to receive his law degree from the University of Dayton in Ohio and his master’s in business administration from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.

While in law school, Greg worked for a healthcare company that staffed emergency room personnel. He also served as an intern for the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation.

Today, he enjoys being an early adopter of data analysis in the legal sector and he is excited by the opportunity to help Decipher’s clients make fully-informed and transparent decisions based on data.
